Key takeaways:

- Choose Oxylabs for large-scale workloads and Webshare for less demanding tasks where keeping upfront costs low matters more.

* Oxylabs gives you more bandwidth and concurrency out of the box, while Webshare makes some of that flexibility optional.

- Webshare gives you more control over IP exclusivity for its ISP and datacenter proxies, with shared, private, and dedicated options.

Oxylabs and Webshare are built for different kinds of proxy users. Webshare is a better fit if you’re looking for affordable, self-service access to residential, ISP, and datacenter proxies. Oxylabs is better suited to workloads that need a larger proxy network, unlimited concurrency on residential proxies, or access to mobile proxies.

In this Oxylabs vs Webshare comparison, we put their proxy products side by side, then compare pricing, performance, targeting, session controls, and the use cases each handles best. Keep reading to find out which is the better option for you.

## Oxylabs and Webshare: What’s the relationship?

Oxylabs acquired Webshare in September 2022, but the providers continue to offer separate proxy products, pricing, and features.

Webshare operates as an independent company, with Oxylabs providing additional resources and industry expertise to support its growth.

So, choosing between Oxylabs and Webshare comes down to what you want from your proxies and which differences matter most to you.

### Residential proxies

Oxylabs has the larger residential proxy network, with a pool size of 175M+ IPs across 195+ locations, compared with Webshare’s pool of 80M+ IPs across 195 locations.

Both providers cover common geo-targeting needs such as country and city targeting. Oxylabs goes further with options such as coordinates and geohash, which may matter if your web scraping setup depends on more detailed location filters.

Rotation works similarly on both platforms. You can change residential IPs with each request or keep the same one for longer tasks. Oxylabs uses a 10-minute sticky session by default and lets you extend it up to 24 hours. That session can end after 60 seconds of inactivity or when the IP goes offline. Webshare lets you configure sticky sessions from 1 minute to 24 hours.

Both providers support HTTP and SOCKS5 connections for HTTP and HTTPS traffic, but Oxylabs also supports HTTP/3. Webshare lists HTTP and SOCKS5 as its proxy protocols, while its HTTP proxies can also securely connect to HTTPS/SSL websites.

### ISP proxies

Both Oxylabs and Webshare offer ISP proxies, but they package them differently, and that affects the level of control you get.

#### Oxylabs ISP Proxies

| | ISP Proxies | Dedicated ISP Proxies |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Availability/sharing | Shared with up to 3 users per IP | Exclusive to you |

Oxylabs gives you more variation in how its datacenter proxies work. You can choose between static pay-per-IP proxies or a rotating pay-per-GB pool.

Webshare gives you more control over IP exclusivity, with a semi-dedicated option alongside shared and exclusive IPs. Both providers let you choose between limited and unlimited datacenter bandwidth.

### Mobile proxies

Of the two providers, only Oxylabs offers mobile proxies as of the time of this writing. That automatically makes it the available option when your target expects mobile carrier traffic. Here's a table showing their features:

| | Oxylabs Mobile Proxies |
| --- | --- |
| Availability/sharing | Shared mobile pool |
| Entry quantity | Starts at 4 GB for $30/month |
| Advertised pool | 20M+ mobile IPs |

## Oxylabs vs Webshare pricing

Before we get into the details of Oxylabs pricing and Webshare's plans, here’s how their starting monthly plans stack up at a glance:

| Proxy product | Oxylabs lowest-priced monthly tier | Webshare lowest-priced monthly tier |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Residential | 5 GB for $30/mo at $6/GB | 1 GB for $3.50/mo at $3.50/GB |
| Shared ISP | 10 IPs for $16/mo at $1.60/IP | 5 IPs for $1.50/mo at $0.30/IP |
| Private ISP | No separate Private tier | One IP for $1.50/mo at $1.50/IP |
| Dedicated ISP | 5 IPs for $16/mo at $3.20/IP | One IP for $3.50/mo at 3.4995/IP |
| Shared Datacenter, pay per IP | 10 IPs for $12/mo at $1.20/IP | 100 shared IPs for $2.99/mo at $0.0299/IP |
| Private Datacenter | No separate Private tier | 25 IPs for $18.53/mo at $0.741/IP |
| Dedicated datacenter | 3 IPs for $6.75/mo at $2.25/IP | 20 IPs for $26.60/mo at $1.33/IP |
| Shared Datacenter, pay per GB | 20 GB for $11.80/mo at $0.59/GB | No separate equivalent rotating pay-per-GB datacenter plan |

Right off the bat, it is clear that Webshare has the lower entry price and lower unit cost across most comparable proxy plans. But that doesn’t necessarily mean it is the more affordable option. We break down the pricing plans in greater detail below.

### Residential proxy pricing

Both providers offer monthly residential proxy plans with metered bandwidth. Webshare costs less to get started, but you may need to pay extra for some features that Oxylabs includes in its plans. Here is how the two providers compare:

| Oxylabs Residential pricing | Webshare Residential pricing |
| --- | --- |
| Starts at $30/month for 5 GB. Pricing falls from $6/GB to as low as $2/GB on custom enterprise plans. | Starts at $3.50/month for 1 GB. Pricing falls from $3.50/GB to $1.40/GB at 3 TB. |
| Monthly subscription model. Unused traffic does not roll over. | Monthly subscription model. Unused traffic does not roll over. |
| Top-ups are available, with higher tiers allowing larger additional traffic purchases. | Offers multiple bandwidth tiers plus a custom traffic amount option. |
| Unlimited concurrent sessions are included across residential plans. | 500 simultaneous requests account-wide by default. 3,000+ is available through the paid High Concurrency add-on. |
| Geo-targeting is included at no extra charge. | Geo-targeting is included with the residential product. |
| Supports username/password authentication and includes up to 10 whitelisted IPs by default. | Supports username/password authentication and includes 1 IP authorization by default. Unlimited IP Authorizations is a paid add-on. |
| 24/7 support is included. A dedicated account manager is available on custom plans. | 24/7 support is available by email, and they offer a paid High-Priority Network add-on that prioritizes your requests when its servers are busy. |

### ISP proxy pricing

Here is how Oxylabs and Webshare ISP proxies compare, so you can choose the one that fits your unique use case:

| Oxylabs ISP pricing | Webshare ISP/Static Residential pricing |
| --- | --- |
| ISP Proxies start at $16/month for 10 IPs, or $1.60/IP. Dedicated ISP starts at $16/month for 5 IPs, or $3.20/IP. | Shared starts at $1.50/month for 5 IPs, or $0.30/IP. Private starts at $1.50/month for one IP with 250 GB, while Dedicated starts at $3.50/month for one IP. |
| Unlimited bandwidth is included on both ISP and Dedicated ISP plans from the entry plan, subject to fair usage. | Choose between 250 GB, 1 TB, 5 TB, or unlimited bandwidth. The paid unlimited option requires at least 100 Shared, 100 Private, or one Dedicated proxy. |
| Per-IP pricing falls with volume. ISP drops from $1.60/IP at 10 IPs to $1.20/IP at 500 IPs, while Dedicated falls from $3.20/IP at 5 IPs to $2.50/IP at 300 IPs. | Per-IP pricing also falls with volume. Shared drops from $0.30/IP at 5 IPs to $0.225/IP at 7,000 IPs. Private drops from $1.50/IP at 1 IP to $0.6258/IP at 2,000 IPs, and Dedicated from $3.4995/IP at 1 IP to $1.47/IP at 2,000 IPs. |

Webshare gives you a lower entry cost and per-IP pricing. Shared ISP starts at $1.5/month for 5 IPs, compared with $16 for 10 IPs on Oxylabs. Webshare also lets you start with a single Private or Dedicated IP, whereas Oxylabs starts at 10 shared or 5 dedicated IPs. So if you only need a few ISP proxies, Webshare requires far less upfront spending.

Oxylabs includes unlimited bandwidth from its smallest ISP plans, starting at $16/month for 10 ISP proxies or 5 Dedicated ISP proxies. With Webshare, you can get unlimited bandwidth on a single Dedicated ISP proxy for $3.80/month, while Shared and Private plans require 100 proxies for unlimited traffic.

If you need unlimited bandwidth on shared ISP proxies, Oxylabs lets you start with fewer IPs. For a single Dedicated ISP proxy with unlimited bandwidth, Webshare costs less upfront.

### Datacenter proxy pricing

And here is how datacenter proxies from Oxylabs and Webshare compare:

| Oxylabs Datacenter pricing | Webshare Datacenter pricing |
| --- | --- |
| Shared has a free option with 5 US IPs and 5 GB of traffic, valid for one month from activation. | Offers 10 free non-expiring shared datacenter proxies with 1 GB of traffic per month. |
| Shared pay-per-IP starts at 12/monthfor10IPs(1.20/IP), while Dedicated starts at 6.75/monthfor3IPs(2.25/IP). | Shared starts at 2.99/monthfor100IPs(0.0299/IP) with 250 GB. Private starts at 18.53/mofor25IPs(0.741/IP), while Dedicated starts at 26.60/mofor20IPs(1.33/IP). |
| Separate Shared pay-per-GB option, starting at 20 GB for 11.80/month(0.59/GB). | Webshare does not have a separate pay-per-GB datacenter product. |
| Shared pay-per-IP and Dedicated include unlimited bandwidth from the smallest paid plan, subject to fair usage. | Unlimited bandwidth costs more and becomes available at 1,000 Shared, 100 Private, or 75 Dedicated proxies, subject to fair usage. |
| Pricing falls with volume. Shared pay-per-IP drops from $1.20/IP at 10 IPs to $0.75/IP at 1,000 IPs. Dedicated drops from $2.25/IP at 3 IPs to $1.35/IP at 500 IPs, and Shared pay-per-GB drops from $0.59/GB at 20 GB to $0.43/GB at 2,000 GB. | Pricing falls with volume. Shared drops from $0.0299/IP at 100 IPs to $0.0209/IP at 15,000 IPs. Private falls from $0.741/IP at 25 IPs to $0.429/IP at 15,000 IPs, while Dedicated falls from $1.33/IP at 20 IPs to $0.77/IP at 10,000 IPs. |

Webshare can cost less if your traffic needs fit within its included bandwidth. You also get 10 free shared datacenter proxies versus 5 with Oxylabs, so if you're looking for inexpensive datacenter IPs and don't need unlimited bandwidth, Webshare may offer better value.

Oxylabs becomes much more desirable when bandwidth matters more than IP quantity. With Webshare, adding unlimited bandwidth raises the price, and you must meet the proxy quantity for that tier.

### Which provider offers better value?

The better value for money between Oxylabs and Webshare depends on how much bandwidth and concurrency you need.

- Webshare gives you better value when your priority is keeping the monthly bill and per-unit cost low.

* Oxylabs can give you better value when each proxy will carry a lot of traffic or your workload needs more simultaneous connections.

So if you are running a smaller scraper or mainly care about how many IPs or GB you get for each dollar, Webshare usually stretches the budget further.

But if you expect to push heavy traffic through fewer proxies or run a highly concurrent workload, Oxylabs’ higher base price can be easier to justify because more bandwidth and concurrency are already included.

## Performance and reliability

Both providers publish useful residential performance data. Here is how they compare:

| Metric | Oxylabs | Webshare |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Response time | 0.41s | No residential-specific average published |
| Success rate | 99.95% | 99.7% |
| Reliability | 99.9% uptime | 99.97% uptime |
| Scraping stability | Sticky sessions up to 24 hours - inactive sessions expire after 60 seconds | Sticky sessions configurable from 1 minute to 24 hours - connection idle timeout configurable from 15 seconds to 2 hours |
| Connection quality | IPs filtered by latency, bandwidth, quality, and scraping history | Paid High-Priority Network available for more consistent connections during peak usage |

## Ease of use, targeting, and features

Now that we know how performance and pricing compare, it’s time to see how easy it is to work with the proxies from each provider.

### Setup and dashboard

Both providers offer Endpoint Generators and dashboard-based proxy management, so the easier option depends on which product and settings you use.

Webshare offers a paid upgrade for unlimited IP authorizations, while Oxylabs’ SOCKS5 whitelisting is limited to Enterprise Dedicated Datacenter Proxies.

Oxylabs gives you more account-level control, including more IP whitelist slots by default, user-level traffic limits, and separate management for different proxy products.

### Targeting and session controls

Targeting and session controls determine how precisely you can choose where a proxy comes from and how long you can keep the same IP.

| Geo-targeting | Residential supports country, US state and ZIP code, city, coordinates, geohash, and ASN. Mobile supports country, US state, city, coordinates, and ASN. ISP and Datacenter are more limited. | Rotating Residential supports country and city targeting across 195 countries, plus US state and ZIP, and ASN targeting. Static products offer fewer location controls. |
| Rotation | Residential and Mobile rotate by default. ISP and Datacenter can rotate through available static IPs. | Rotating Residential can change IP per request. Datacenter and Static Residential can also rotate through assigned proxies. |
| Sticky sessions | Residential and Mobile: 10 minutes by default, up to 24 hours. ISP and Datacenter remain static while assigned. | Rotating Residential: 1 minute to 24 hours. Static Residential and Datacenter remain static until refreshed or replaced. |

Oxylabs offers more flexible targeting overall because it goes beyond regular granular filtering with coordinates, geohash, and broader state and city filters. Keep in mind that neither provider lets you combine ASN with country targeting, and some Oxylabs ASNs require KYC approval.

### API and developer experience

Both Oxylabs and Webshare give developers APIs, documentation, and code examples, but the approaches they take are not the same. Here is how they compare:

| Area | Oxylabs | Webshare |
| --- | --- | --- |
| API access | Public APIs support proxy-user management for Residential and Mobile. Enterprise Dedicated Datacenter and Enterprise Dedicated ISP products have separate APIs for IP and proxy-list management. | REST API covers proxy lists, configuration, IP authorization, sub-users, usage statistics, and subscription/plan management. |
| Documentation | Detailed product-specific documentation with setup examples in cURL and major programming languages. | Centralized API documentation with Python, JavaScript, and cURL examples plus request and response schemas. |
| Integrations | Large library of guides for Selenium, Puppeteer, Playwright, Scrapy, Python Requests, AIOHTTP, browser extensions, anti-detect browsers, and other tools. | Works with standard HTTP/SOCKS5 clients and has tutorials for Python, Scrapy, Puppeteer, Playwright, and other common scraping tools. |
| Developer tools | Developer Hub, integration guides, code samples, and product-specific APIs. | API keys, downloadable proxy lists, and API-based proxy configuration and monitoring. |

## Which is better for your use case?

| Use case | Better fit | Why |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Large-scale web scraping | Oxylabs | Larger residential proxy pool of 175M+ IPs across more than 195+ countries, plus unlimited concurrent sessions. |
| Small scraping projects | Webshare | Lower minimum spend makes it better suited to light or occasional scraping. You can start with 10 free Datacenter proxies and 1 GB/month with no expiry, or buy just 1 GB of Residential traffic. |
| Ecommerce monitoring | Oxylabs | Its unlimited concurrency can help when you need to check many products or stores simultaneously. |
| SEO/SERP monitoring | Oxylabs | More granular location controls, including country, state, city, ZIP/postal code, coordinates, and geohash, which is useful when collecting localized search results. |
| Long sessions | Webshare | Both providers support long-lived static IPs, but Webshare's Static Residential proxies are cheaper and stay fixed by default. |
| Mobile data collection | Oxylabs | Clear choice. Oxylabs has a 20M+ Mobile IP pool across 140+ countries with country, state, city, coordinate, and ASN targeting. Webshare does not currently offer a Mobile Proxy product. |
| Datacenter-heavy workloads | Oxylabs | Shared pay-per-IP and Dedicated Datacenter plans include unlimited bandwidth from the entry tier, while Webshare’s unlimited option costs extra. |
| Enterprise use | Oxylabs | Broader proxy lineup, custom high-volume plans, dedicated account managers on selected plans, and 24/7 support. |

## Alternatives to Oxylabs and Webshare

Neither Oxylabs nor Webshare will be the best fit for every workflow. An alternative may make more sense when your requirements fall outside how these two providers package and sell their proxies.

For example:

- Your residential traffic usage is irregular, so monthly plans without traffic rollover can leave you paying for unused data

* You need residential sessions longer than 24 hours for account management or other tasks that require a consistent IP

- You only need IP addresses for a day

* Your workflow is mobile-specific and consumes a lot of bandwidth

In these scenarios, MarsProxies is a good [alternative to Oxylabs](https://marsproxies.com/proxy-alternatives/oxylabs/) and Webshare. [Residential proxies](https://marsproxies.com/proxies/residential-proxies/) start from as low as $1.65/GB with non-expiring traffic. You can configure residential sessions for up to 7 days and buy Datacenter and ISP proxies with unlimited bandwidth for as little as one day.

Oxylabs meters Mobile Proxy usage by traffic, while Webshare does not offer Mobile proxies at all. MarsProxies offers Mobile proxies with unlimited data for periods as short as one day. ## Final verdict

So which is better, Oxylabs or Webshare?

It comes down to your workload. Oxylabs is better suited to larger, more demanding tasks where bandwidth, concurrency, and precise location targeting matter. Webshare makes more sense for smaller, cost-conscious workloads where lower entry prices matter more. [Join our Discord channel](https://discord.gg/YJWrbVq8at/) for more proxy tips and guides.

## FAQ

Is Oxylabs better than Webshare?

It depends on what you want Oxylabs to do. If you have a large, demanding workload that needs unlimited bandwidth and concurrency, or mobile proxies, Oxylabs is the better fit.

Is Webshare owned by Oxylabs?

Yes. Oxylabs acquired Webshare in September 2022. However, Webshare continues to operate independently with its own proxy products and features.

Is Webshare cheaper than Oxylabs?

Yes. Webshare has lower entry prices with the exception of Dedicated Datacenter proxies and lower unit costs across most plans. However, Oxylabs includes features like unlimited concurrency and unlimited bandwidth on plans that cost extra in comparable Webshare plans.

Which is better for web scraping, Oxylabs or Webshare?

Oxylabs is better suited to large scraping because of its larger residential pool of 175M+ IPs, unlimited residential concurrency, and deeper targeting options. Webshare is better for smaller or occasional web scraping projects because you can start with less traffic and a lower upfront cost.

Does Webshare have a free plan?

Yes. Webshare offers 10 free shared Datacenter proxies with 1 GB of traffic per month. The plan does not expire and does not require a credit card.

Does Oxylabs offer a free trial?

Yes. Oxylabs offers free trials for products including Residential and Datacenter proxies. Residential trials must be requested through Oxylabs by booking a demo or contacting support, and the offer is available only once. Oxylabs also separately offers five free U.S. Datacenter proxies with 5 GB of traffic for one month.
